Project: Kitchen and Mudroom Remodel in Wakefield, MA (AKA #ProjectLakeshore)
Our clients came to us with the dream of re-imagining the way they live in their split-level home, focusing on the kitchen remodel. Before renovating, they used their now semi formal dining and lounge area as their main family room. They had a secondary family room that sunk into the first floor of the home that was rarely used. Our designers took measurements of all the areas of the home and helped them visualize using the family room on the first floor as their main living area. With the new open layout, they can now entertain the way the want to and enjoy every square inch of their home.
Color was prioritized when choosing the palette of the kitchen materials. We chose a bright navy maple painted frameless cabinet for the base cabinetry and a soft gray painted maple finish for the wall and tall cabinets around the room.
We chose a scalloped mosaic for their main backsplash feature and paired two separate colorways to create an interesting pattern never done before!
Opening the wall between the old kitchen and dining room allowed for a large island big enough for the entire family to sit and enjoy each other’s company.
Paired with both stainless and black stainless fixtures and appliances, the two toned cabinetry comes together in a harmonious way. The white subway tile provides a clean and timeless backdrop.
In addition to layout, our designers focused on incorporating natural light into the space with five large windows that overlook the beautiful lake front view.
Our designers also worked closely with our carpentry team to build a custom mudroom bench/nook for all the kids to land their things after a busy day of sports and school!
The gorgeous mosaic tile backsplash takes center stage, and brings all of the choices together perfectly!
Enjoy taking a walk-through tour with our designer Kelley Antonuccio, while she explains how this all came together!
We truly enjoyed helping this amazing family create the space they dreamed of in their beautiful home!
