Project: Full bathroom remodel with custom shower in Wakefield, MA
Our clients came to us with two goals in mind, update the powder blue 1950’s tile and overall aesthetic of the first floor bathroom, and expand the footprint of the existing narrow shower. We kept the original layout as is, but a few minor tweaks made all the difference for this young family. The final result now feels spacious and bright, in crisp black and white!
The main floor field tile became the real star of the show in this bathroom, and it is complimented by small black hexagon tiles on the shower floor.Using the Art Deco poster art the family had as an inspiration, we chose a geometric black and white porcelain main floor field tile. Once the art is rehung in this bathroom, they will add the perfect pop of color and depth against the black and white backdrop.The gold hardware adds a warm touch on the black vanity.We kept the palette simple, using a white quartz for the shower jams and matte black hardware on the shower door.Since this is a first-floor bathroom, it also functions as a powder room, so we added a niche in the shower tucked away on the inside wall to keep shampoo and soap bottles out of view.Details! Matte black fixtures, and black wall plates provide the perfect contrast.
