Project: Design-build remodel of a basement bath space in Wakefield. (#ProjectElevatedBasementBath)
Project Elevated Basement Bath is a bath remodel here in Wakefield where our team assisted in all design, product, materials, and construction, from start to finish. Our crew, in collaboration with the homeowners, transformed the existing partially prepped basement space, into the efficient and elevated bath we are proud of.
The existing bath space was prepped with rough plumbing and an installed tile floor. We reoriented and perfected the layout to accommodate a vanity with storage, toilet, shower with privacy wall, and tall open storage, while working with the two existing door locations. We executed a neutral cool finish palette of whites, grays, and blues, with texture, all to withstand time.
Fun fact: this home houses an elevator, which inspired our project name, “Project Elevated Basement Bath”, where we achieved elevating the design, aesthetic, and function of this space for the family’s two young boys and any family traveling for a visit.

Entering the basement bath there is a full view of the vanity with tall open storage, step in shower, and toilet at the left, all radiating style with a cool palette of finishes.

The cabinetry featured at the vanity is a frameless, full overlay, all plywood construction, with a false panel, hinged door, and drawer storage in a high textured quartersawn white oak wood species and bold charcoal midnight gray stained finish. The deep contrast of the cabinetry creates a focal point to remember.

The cabinetry is emphasized by its surrounding finishes; the large format textured tile floor, the light quartz countertop, the cool neutral blue wall color, and the brushed nickel metal finish at the hardware, plumbing, accessories, and lighting.

The shower space is a curbed, step in shower, with privacy wall at the toilet side, tiled, with a practical plumbing concept, finished with shower glass. The focal finishes are the large format room floor tile leading up to the quartz shower curb, we introduced a small hexagon shower floor tile, and a textured subway tile that we installed vertically with vision.

We perfected the existing partially prepped space by reorienting the closet to create tall open storage. This allowed us to accomplish a large shower space up to the toilet with a privacy wall, utilizing the full space with purpose.
