Chic Black and White Kitchen in Saugus

Chic Black & White Kitchen, Fireplace, and Powder Room Remodel in Saugus, MA (AKA #ProjectQuartziteDreams)

We had so much fun designing this gorgeous and glamorous kitchen! Our clients came to us wanting to update their 20-year-old kitchen to have a “wow factor” that would make for an enjoyable place to cook and entertain. We designed within the existing footprint of the kitchen, and started with appliance selections, where Sub-Zero Wolf was the perfect line to incorporate.

After removing a peninsula and making better use of the space with the new layout, we worked with our clients to develop a sophisticated materials palette of black and white cabinetry, gray and white leathered quartzite, polished nickel fixtures and a dash of butcher block. The final installation delivered our clients the custom kitchen of their dreams that we hope they will enjoy for many years to come!

A major show-stopper of this kitchen is the Wolf range, enclosed in a custom alcove with a marble niche and quartzite slab backsplash.

A pair of decorative-faced cabinets with glass creates interest and symmetry along the detailed sink wall.

Our designer cleverly incorporated a butcher block top at the end of the island near the range, providing the perfect spot to prep while cooking. The gorgeous walnut wood adds warmth to the space, and also avoids a countertop seam in the oversized island.

The mix of materials came together harmoniously in the kitchen, with black base cabinetry grounding the palette, the quartzite backsplash bridging to the soft white upper cabinetry, and polished nickel and stainless steel sparkling throughout the space.

The leathered quartzite countertop continues up in a slab backsplash, creating a beautiful and classic canvas for the polished nickel pot filler, marble appliance niche and Wolf range top.

The island is large enough for six stools to tuck suitably beneath, providing plenty of seating for this busy family.

With a clear view to the family room, the upgraded kitchen could not overshadow the focal point fireplace and flanking built-ins. A newly designed mantel, tile surround and hearth, and a fresh coat of paint gave this space the power to stand tall across from the new kitchen.
Saugus Powder Room Remodel
As part of the overall project, we also fully updated the powder room behind the kitchen, with a faux-marble herringbone floor, custom millwork, and timeless, classic fixtures. The space is finished off with soft wallpaper, a pair of sconces, and an oversized custom mirror that enlarges the room.

The classic and refined palette is a mix of contrasting colors and textures, lending interest to every square inch of the space.
